Alexander Cleghorn is based in Tiptree, Essex and was established in 1958. We offer a dedicated DIY and Shelving service supplying a range of Melamine and Veneered panels. Furniture components are manufactured on our state of the art machinery which occupies several well-constructed factories on our sixteen acre site. We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Assistant/Technical Admin to join our Technical Department on a fixed term basis.

Job Description

 

The Role
As our fixed term Technical Assistant/Technical Admin, you will be responsible for interpreting customer orders into factory data as well as material optimisation, allocation and ordering.

You will be expected to:

  • Perform preliminary review of all incoming customer orders to confirm that Purchase Order, Sales Order and supporting information are complete and ready for processing.
  • Liaise directly with either sales department or the customer to advice of deficiencies and seek remedies to facilitate the progression of the order to schedule.
  • Perform daily administrative duties requested to facilitate efficiency within the department.
  • Print out hard copies of orders and technical information to ensure that technical personnel can process orders with minimal interruptions to work flow.
  • Assist with the scanning and filing of internal documentation to support efficient departmental workflow.
  • Use list details to produce customer identification/delivery Barcode labels.
  • Print & distribute customer barcode identification labels
  • Work within health and safety at work act of 1974 at all times and in all working areas.
  • Ad-hoc tasks may be requested from time to time that is not listed above, but will be required.
  • Additional hours may be required during busy periods.
  • Perform any reasonable management instruction within time frame requested.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 07:30 am to 17:00 pm, and flexibility with working hours is essential as overtime will be required from time to time.

The Candidate
To be considered for our fixed term Technical Assistant/Technical Admin role, you will have the following skills and experience:

Qualifications

MS Excel, MS Outlook, Minimum GCSE English and Mathematics

Experience

Ideally worked with sheet board optimisation software before but not essential

Skills / Knowledge

Previous experience within an administrative role is essential.
